With five children of my own including twins I have some personal
experience of how daunting it can be bringing your new baby home!
I have always loved working with and looking after
mothers and babies
and so I completed my general nurse training and then continued with
midwifery training straight from college. I loved the buzz of
the wards and caring for mothers in labour and post-natally, helping
them in
their new role as mothers and to establish breastfeeding if that was
their
chosen method of feeding.

I gave up midwifery only after my
second child was born. Since then I have looked after my five
children. When my youngest (the twins)
started school I found time long on my hands and missed having a babe
in arms,
so when I heard about post-natal doulas, it sounded the perfect
solution - helping care for someone else’s baby!
I completed my doula training and haven't looked back. Please see the comments and testimonials here!
